Tyson, Clemens, Seaboard, Hormel and Triumph agreed to pay to resolve claims that pork processors worked together to inflate prices. Claims must be filed by October 29, 2026.
What Is the Pork Price-Fixing Settlement About?
The case, In re Pork Antitrust Litigation (Consumer Indirect Purchaser Plaintiffs), Case No. 0:18-cv-1776, is pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota before Judge John R. Tunheim.
Plaintiffs allege that major pork processors limited supply and raised prices by sharing data through the benchmarking service Agri Stats, restraining production and using exports to tighten the domestic market. The companies deny all wrongdoing, and the court has not ruled that any defendant broke the law.
This round settles claims against the last six defendants. Tyson is paying $85 million, Clemens $13.5 million, Seaboard $10 million, Hormel $4.465 million and Triumph $4.1 million. Agri Stats agreed to business-practice reforms but no cash. Earlier settlements with JBS and Smithfield closed to claims on April 22, 2026.
Who Is Eligible?
You may be eligible if you bought pork for personal use, not directly from a processor, between June 28, 2014 and June 30, 2018, in one of these jurisdictions: Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah or West Virginia.
Covered products are raw bacon and fresh or frozen raw pork cuts from bellies, loins, shoulders, ribs and chops. Pork labeled organic or "no antibiotics ever" is excluded, as is any non-bacon product that is marinated, seasoned, flavored or breaded. The official site has a product lookup tool.
How Much Will You Get?
Payments are pro rata, meaning each claimant's share is proportional to the amount of pork they report buying.
